DuPont™ Xavan® Pond Liner for the shrimp farming industry

DuPont™ Xavan® Pond Liner is a double coated non-woven structure based on Xavan®, ideal solution for smart pond landscaping. This unique and composite structure gives a high resistance to penetration or damage by root systems. Its high tensile strength and high tear and puncture resistance makes it an exceptionally strong structure, whose properties are vital during the lifetime of the pond.

DuPont™ Xavan® Technology :

Dupont xavan is reinforced with typar, a dupont specialty non-woven fabric. Typar is manufactured by a unique process in which continuous filaments of polypropylene are spun and then immediately formed in to multi-directionally arranged web that is heat bounded at filament crossover points. These continuous fibers are evenly distributed in a uniform structure, thus permitting its use in applications which require good balance of mechanical properties in both directions of sheet.

The meticulous layering of dupont thermoplastic olefin elvaloy compound, with precise properties, on the xavan spunbonded structure, creates a pond liner which in terms of waterholding performance goes beyond the requirements and yet is also exceptionally strong and exceptionally light.

Exceptionally light :

Dupont xavan pond liner is very light compared to other membranes of similar strength. This will certainly have positive implications in terms of manpower and installation time. Installing a dupont xavan pond liner from handling on site to welding or gluing the liner are all made easier; a rough exercise revealed savings up to 50% in installation time.
