Probiotic for Aquaculture
Accumulation of uneaten feed, excreta, dead plankton create a sludge on the pond bottom and turbid water above. Digestion of sludge by indigenous microorganisms is slow and takes dissolve oxygen away from the crop. In addition, there is a build up of ammonia, nitrites and other toxic inhibitory products. Therefore, to improve the aquatic environment there must be a reduction in accumulation of these substances. It is well known fact that chemical and physical methods are costly and are temporarily beneficial. The reduction of sludge is best possible by BIO-AUGMENTATION of the existing microorganisms through regular addition of biologically active seed cultures such as PROBAC-BC
PROBAC-BC contains special mixture of non pathogenic microbial cultures which are adapted to produce large amounts of waste degrading enzymes like amylases, proteases, lipases and cellulases. It contains bacteria that oxidize ammonia to form nitrites and nitrates. The cultures of Probac-BC enhance the natural nitrification cycle. Simultaneous with nitrification, de-nitrification occurs, which converts harmful nitrates and ammonia into harmless nitrogen gas, nitrous oxide. This process is carried out by the facultative denitrifying bacteria in Probac-BC
